shark | Is their a difference in a silent partner and an ownership? |

A silent owner just gives you $. An owner runs and oversees a business. |

An silent partner can be an owner, but not all owners are silent partners.
I thin your problem might be language. Your question is similar to asking:
Is there a difference between a Toyota and a car? |

Being a silent partner doesn't make a person any less of an owner than an active partner. It just means that he is more of a financier who chooses not to get his hands dirty with the everyday running of the business. By calling him a "partner" it already signifies part-ownership. |

silent partner is financial and no verbal input. an ownership is a partnership evenly dispersed, financial and verbal insights. |

Yes.
1. A silent partner is a (part) owner but an owner is not necessarily a silent partner.
2. Silent partner refers to a partnership business, while owner could refer to any business (if you own shares in a company, you are an owner of that company). |

A silent partner may be an owner. This is often found in Limited Partnerships and corporations. In a limited partnership, you have a general partner who runs the business and the limited partners who help fund the venture, which makes them owners but do not take part in the management of the entity. In corporations, most common shareholders are silent partners and owners as well (this is often a result of dilution of shares holder equity due to the number of outstanding shares in public companies; however, if an entity can amass enough shares, they are then no longer silent.
Hope this helps |

A silent partner is a person (or entity) that invests money in a venture, either successfully or otherwise, but who doesn't participate in the administration and management of the business. For example, your brother starts up a company that manufactures toys. You invest $100,000 in that company but don't interfere in how your brother runs it. If the company does good, you make profit on your investment, or if it falters, you lose your money. |
