So I was at Guitar Center the other day, buying a new guitar. When I asked the guy what the return policy was, he said "It's 30 days...." then looked at me and started probing me with questions. "How come?" So I told him it was because I just wanted to see how it sounded on my amp, and see if it's a lot better than my old guitar and all this other stuff. And he was really annoyingly suspicious; and I knew exactly why...

Then he proceeded to tell me "a lot of people get the idea that they can just 'rent' the equipment and bring it back for a full refund, you know?" and I told him that wasn't my intention. Anyway, I feel it was really bad customer service on his part to assume that that's why I was asking. You know? Anyone else agree?

Greeter -- Wow. I can understand people trying to protect merchandise, but to tell me that I was in the wrong for asking? I hope you don't have a job dealing with customers. I asked simply because musical instruments ARE something to be very picky about, and that I needed to test out on my own equipment for recording and other purposes. This isn't like I'm buying something routine.
