Is this good business or just a scare tactic?
My cable tv and my internet service are combined through this company. I got my bill today through the mail. Looked and it said your account is past due.. Heck they only sent it out the 19th of this month. It said please remit the total balance to avoid disconnection. Then up at the top it says upon receipt. I have never had any bills to say this. I have always paid my cable internet service but this sounds to me like a threat if they dont get their money by the next day.
It's not good business. They appear to want to scare you into payment now instead of waiting. Must be Comcast, they did the same to me and I switched.

Call them and politely ask if maybe they might check and see if they don't have a 'glitch' in their system somewhere!
Whatever you do, don't take it personally. I am sure it is just an oversight on their part.

Well, the part about the past due sounds as though they are saying you owe something from the previous month , or maybe it was paid after they posted the new bill.. Usually there is some cut off date. As for the upon receipt. That seems like standard lingo for many companies to let you know there is no 20-30 days to pay it, but that when you receive it you are supposed to pay it. I've seen that on other things at times. I wouldn't be too worried but I would call and clarify if there is an error on the past due, or if you paid after the date they wrote the new bill out.
