They don't have any significant icon of their own creativitiy. They have only copy other people's succesfful products. Then they try to kick other people out by their dominance of OS. Or low ball other products.
Example: Netscape, video game player, microsoft fax, MS office, window media player and now zune.

I disagree with the first respondant. The companies that MS copying are American companies too. I admire the creativity and the vision of Apple and other starts up. They are the one that pushes the forefront of the technologies. Well, MS just come, copy and eliminate them by low balling them.
That kills innovations and depressing people who keeping thinking about the next products to create. |

nobody is a copycat! i think they may have copied some features, but other companies have done that before including Apple (i.e. http://www.eliteproductionswi.com/apple-ps.htm) and other companies have copied some elements into the way they help us. i think what they are doing is more like innovating what somebody else had done,( like making the wheel more useful than caveman would have used it) and if a company is just trying to make something better for it's consumers, then it shouldn't be a crime. it's not copycating, it's innovating. it would only be copying if it's directly the same thing, like same name, codex, works, and all that. so every company has copied before, and not in any bad way. |

Hey, they're American. Cut them a little slack. they can be kind of a copycat sometimes, but hey, without them, there'd be nothing but MAC computers around. Then again, that's not half bad. Microsoft is a decent company somewhat compared to Sony. |

Bill and co. do one thing really great-they give the consumer what they (Microsoft) tells them they want. LOL.
No really, the marketplace decides. I think Steve Jobs is a great visonary, BUT, Bill gave the people what they wanted, not what he thought they should have and he found ways to make them want more. |

it is hard to compete with a billion dollar company when you are 23 year old genius and you invent the bext best thing since sliced bread in computer technology. You begin to market it and the billion dollar company says they will pay you 15 million for the rights to your sliced bread. what honest person would say no? if you do say 'no' they use that money to defame your product, and you end up with nothing. But is doesn't discourage inventors. There is still a monetary incentive to create something because you can always sell an idea. Look at the delorean. All stainless steel car, barely rusts! Why weren't more made? why isn't ford, chevy, or dodge making their cars all stainless steel? Simple, they bought the pattent for the delorean (probably for a few million) and stopped production to get rid of competition. But the inventor still got a good paycheck out of it. People make their living off of starting up a small business then getting bought out by large chains. The chains don't wont competition so they pay you more than the company is worth to get rid of you. |

no they aren't, i bet you are one of those people that probaly has a mac and think they are all that (which they aren't) has sammy k has said, apple can be a copy cat at some other things too. and so do many other companies in this world! it's not really copying! is it copying when you happen to write the same answer as your buddy across the room? is it copying when 2 companies think that this feature should be put in their product just so consumers can enjoy their product? no. it's just being smart and using common ideas to incorporate them in a better product. so if you say microsoft copies ideas, then you are implying that everybody copies good ideas! |

I am an apple man after being hired into a job where I mostly use mac's. They even stole the bubble from apple. They have better games and software sure but the features of MAC os 10.4 put xp to shame, If you havent used a mac in the last 2 years, WOW are they a whole lot better than they used to be!!!! and iDvd and iMovie wow!!! |
