Buying on ebay is easy, to make sure you don't get scammed, check feedback, the time they have been a member, and when you check feedback, make sure it's not all from one person, people set up puppet accounts, buy from themselves, in order to leave positive feedback. If there are 1000 feedbacks, all from the same customer, I would recommend not buying from that vendor.
I usually buy from people with 98% and higher.
When you win the bid, the seller usually contacts you somehow and tells you when the item will be shipped. If you use paypal, they will want to send it to the address you have on file there, so that their item is insured by them.
To find out the weight of an item, you can take it to the post office, packaged, and ask them for an estimate. If you have a postal scale, you can weigh it, and get a quote on USPS.com
To sell an item, ebay has a step by step program that takes you though it, Type in the description, pick a category, post pictures, but there are a significant amount of fees involved with ebay, I think its around 9% of what you sold it for, and there are also listing fees as well.
To receive the item, you give the seller your address, I'm pretty sure you type your address in when you sign up to buy, and ebay automatically sends it to the seller when someone has won their item.
For the item you have the question for I would probably purchase, they have positive feedback, don't worry about the number of bids on the actual item, that doesn't matter, it is not from within the US, if you are in the US, you are going to pay higher shipping. I'm not sure how paypal works when it comes to converting currency, or if you're not using paypal, how you would be able to pay them in their currency, unless you are in the UK this wouldn't be an issue.
Ebay also has rules, if the person ends up sending you a box filled with garbage, it's a completely different item, it's not as described, it doesn't work, or something like that, you file a dispute and you get your money back. |

Only pay through PayPal. Then, if you are scammed, PayPal will go after the seller FOR YOU and you will get your money back.
Don't bid more then you WANT TO.
BEFORE YOU BID, write down your TOP AMOUNT you are willing to spend... And REFUSE to go over that amount by even a penny... You will think "It's only $1.00 more..." but next thing you know... You are $20.00 over what you wanted to spend.
ALWAYS remember to add in your shipping price to your grand total BEFORE YOU BID.
Some people sell something for $1.00 but have $60.00 shipping and handling...
Keep to those rules and you will be fine! |

It'd be fine to buy that, i'd wait until the last few minutes because it will go up A LOT in price so there's no point bidding yet. Search the internet for guides on how to use ebay, it's very easy and straight forward. You don't need to worry so much about being scammed as it is obvious whether an item is what it actually is, make sure there are pictures of the item and a full description, also check the sellers feedback to make sure they have not scammed in the past etc. I've bought many items from ebay and always recieved them, it's not too good to be true. |

Firstly before you even put in a bid, check the sellers feedback, there's a link on the item listing page for you to do this, read the feedback, secondly read the full item listing details, some sellers offer very cheap items and charge £40 or more for p&p charges, so thats not as good a bargain as you thought, check what type of payment methods they accept. When you have won an item, the seller will send you an e.mail with a pay (the item and p&p) link, you pay for your item, the seller will post it off to you, easy as that. To sell, you have to open a seller account and because this is a little more in depth, there are links on ebay to help you along with this, you will find the link on the site map, the sell listing procedure is pretty straight forward and guides you through. The link to the ebay item, the seller has put a reserve price on that item so he basically wants a decent price for it, its still under the reserve price as of now, as more people bid on it, it will maybe reach the reserve price, when it does it will go to the highest bidder. Hope this helps. |

I think you'd be better off asking one thing at a time, but what I will tell you is that you need a paypal account to go with it. A lot of people me included will only sell to people with an account. It acts as protection for you as a buyer and me as a seller. All the links that you mention are on there and when you come to list an item they will walk you through it. It isn't a maze and once you've done one item it will all become quite simple. Up to you about paypal but it will take about 5days to set up. |

A good way to know if the seller can be trusted is by reading their feedback. You can learn a lot that way, like how long they take to ship, if the condition of the item was good, etc. When you win the bid the seller will ship the item to you after they receive payment. It is shipped to your house, you do not have to go to the post office to pick it up. Some will only take paypal, which is the best way anyways. Or you send a check or money order if the seller accepts those methods. WHen you sell an item you take it to the post office and have it shipped. They will weigh it there and charge you. Sometimes you just have to guess the price for shipping, or you can see what other ebayers are charging for shipping of similar items. You can charge for your time and effort too as a lot do. If you do priority mail it is one flat rate, I can't remember but I know it's 8-9 dollars. You just get the one sized priority mail box and put whatever fits into it. There are so many options for shipping you will just have to learn as you go or research. Fedex, ups, usps. You can use your own packaging too. No it's not too good to be true, a lot of items start out really low and people just keep bidding it up high. Mostly they wait until the very end and try to win it at the last second and the price can jump high very quickly. Beware of people charging too much for shipping, always add the shipping in before you bid. Never forget to look at the shipping costs. And when selling, most of the time you will have better luck starting the bidding out low.

ebay has tutorials for buyers and sellers. read them. as for bidding, always check feedback. if there seems to be a pattern for not sending items, items not as described, etc, don't buy from that seller. personally I never bid from a seller with less than 98% feedback, unless they are a power seller |
