Job application ?
Im in the process of filling out my first job application and im curious what would be the best answer for the ? why do you want to work for our company? Its a 99 cent store! If thats any significance! And it also asks for me to describe a specific situation where i provided excellent customer service? And why was it effective? Plz help me answer these! Thank you!

most stores just use standard applications. they probably don't care so much about those answers. they know it's not a huge opportunity to work for a 99 cent store...

so just say something generic. don't try too hard. just say that you "would like to start your first job in a friendly environment so you can gain experience." (they'll like the subtle compliment)

for the second question, just describe a situation where you helped someone who was asking for directions or something. it doesn't necessarily have to be job related.

you could even explain that "i haven't had professional experience helping customers, but i am always willing to give a hand to people who need it in any way possible, such as helping peers in my class with homework problems, or giving directions to people who have lost their way."

Just be honest. Why do you want to work there? To earn work experience and because it would be a fun work environment (or something along those lines). The other question will be trickier because you've never had a job before. Is there something you can use from school where you helped someone out? That would work too. Good luck.

You want to work for this company because you can only count as high as 99.
The best customer service you provide is the moment your shift ends.

So i can learn the business and open a store for myself oneday.
Tell them of an experience when you went out of your way to help someone, and what you did specifically, and what the final result was.

Because you like the ever changing shelves of goods daily, nothing is ever boring. Because you are a worker who is dependable and reliable, and you noticed others there are not. Because you have shopped there before and feel comfortable there. Because you are trustworthy, and do a good job.

You helped the lady with 2 screaming kids, to her car with bags of goods, when her bags tore. You help people when possible by taking them right to their choices they ask about. You believe in knowing where everything is. You made sure the lady in the wheelchair got serviced properly by asking her once that if she needs your help, you will be there.
