Magicjack or Magic Jack misleading ad?
I ordered this product and it came 12 days later. I did not opened it right away as I was kind of busy. When I finally did, I had a week left of my "free trial" of 30 days. I discovered that my area code was not available so I tried to cancel. they informed me that I was beyond the 30 day trial. WTF? They further informed me that time starts when i placed the order NOT when i received it!!! Also told me that if I had any issues to take it up with support via email. It has been another week and am still waiting for a response. I would not buy this even if it is the best thing since sliced bread on principle. They need to disclosed their rules before you give them your credit card number!!!!
The Magic Jack is a hot product and they're selling faster than hotcakes. Because of this, their customer service is having a hard time keeping up. Well, that's my guess anyhow...
They are adding area codes pretty quickly (got 42 out of 50 states now). They only had 20 something when I ordered mine way back when and my own wasn't among them. Despite all that, I still love my Magic Jack!
Maybe you did not know, but when your area code comes online, they will let you switch to a different number in your own area code for free. In the meantime, you can use the area code of a distant relative or friend so you could call each other for free anytime. Give it a try!

It also has a list of states with an area code, links to discount coupon codes, screen shot previews of the install process, etc. For the price they are asking for a full year of unlimited long distance, it's still a deal!

Have one. Try using an area code that is closest to you. They have to start the time you ordered for credit card purposes. After you get over your anger try hooking it up and using the closest area code to you, after that it's no problem, and works anywhere you take your computer.

The worst scammers are the ones who promise you a 30 day money-back guarantee. That is as big a scam as the original offer. It was misleading..

I order this product, also about a week ago. Then never received an email confirmation, which i felt was odd! I called the company & they said my order would be shipped the next day. Still no order received 10 days later, so I chatted with the company & they said my credit card had failed. So I went into my credit card online, they have charged $135 after the commercial said $19.95 - so obviously the credit card worked. I will be filing fraudulent charges against them. Sounds like a big scam to me!

File a complaint with the Florida State Attorney Generals office. Magicjack is a regular for them. Seems they are being investigated for fraud and deceptive business practices. Here is their website where you can file a complaint.
