mary_elaine25 | Marketing homework question...help!!? |
Q: You find that you have significantly hovercharged one of your clients. The error was discovered when you received payment. It is unlikely lthat the customer or your company will become aware of the overcharge. Because of this error, the company realized a higher net profit on the sale. Your commissions are based on this profit. What, if anything, will you do about lthe overcharge? |

Be proactive and contact your client directly. Speak with the decision-maker that owns the budget for this purchase. Explain what happened, be upfront that your commission is based on the net profit, and present some alternatives for them to consider. I'd include the option of an immediate credit of the overage or a credit against their next purchase.
If you have good rapport with the buyer they may opt for the latter, thus protecting your commission and keeping their mistake from the eyes of their boss. Remember, it is their mistake also. |

you seem to be worried with marketing concepts dear.
just stay cool & try to find the answers yourself .
it is that much easy.
i am saying this as the professionals on internet might charge somewhere around 100 bucks or more for little problems.
but if you still find problem then you need to check this given source:::::::::::::::::==> |

Be upfront with the situation. You will lose money but the honest and honor that you show will give your boss and the client a new view of you. All you have that can never be taken away by anyone but yourself is honor.
What if the client does discover it and they contact your boss. Now you look bad and untrustworth. |

Since the customer COULD figure it out later, and you knew about it, what is the solution? |

I agree. It will look better to a client to know that you were honest about the situation. It could also lead to more business from them as well as positive word of mouth. If they were to discover that they were overcharged you will lose their business and probably other customers as well. |
