ok so i sent in my resume to the manager of a new aeropostale that is opening at the mall. i didnt think i'd get a response so quick or even at all, but i got an email back the same day i sent it, which is great but i didnt check my email til about 2 days later. there was a group interview the day i read the email, but i read it at 5pm, and the interview was at 1pm.
it said to email her back to let her know if we could make or not. and if we couldnt, the only next time wed be able to get an interview would be when the store opens. so should i email her back even tho the interview is over, saying i couldnt make it and should i ask when the store would be opening? |

There is no harm in asking for an opportunity to interview. Explain that you were not on your computer and missed the email. I really do not think there is any benefit to you in suggesting that either the store or you was "at fault." It was an excusable mistake. I would have imagined the interview would have been via a mailed notice, as well. Frankly, I started out reading your commentary expecting some kind of "the dog ate my homework" excuse. You have reasonable grounds to seek an interview. Good luck and I apologize for pre-judging you! |

I would definitely email her back, or better yet call. I don't know if you had the opportunity to email her and just didn't check you computer, but maybe say you were not near a computer. It would be kind of nosey of her to ask what you were doing. You have to go for it though. Especially if you want it. |

Certainly email back... but in the future, I would recommend either checking your email daily when job hunting, or not putting it on your resume at all. Some companies have really fast turnarounds in their hiring process. |

Yeah, its not your fault that you missed the interview. Companies are supposed to inform of interviews a week beforehand. 2 days is very little. Just tell her your situation and email her back. Good luck. |
