Though I quite like shopping at Tesco (only because there's not much else left to shop at - so I haven't got a 'choice'), I look at the now barren High Street and wonder if letting Tesco and others in has all been worthwhile. The quaint little shops that once were all part of the community and offered so much more are nearly all gone. When you look at all the employment that these shops offered, as well as quality and choice, Tesco actually offers very little, it is cheap and handy, that's about all! As for the jobs that Tesco and the likes create, most of them are part time and LOW paid.
As for the last little shops and services left on the High Street, use them or loose them folks! |

Total world domination of course,Duh! Putting all competition to the sword, and eventually creating cloned stores everywhere attracting customers by offering amazing deals on tins of stewed steak while charging OTT for milk and washing powder, opening "Mini" stores in rural communities which charge 5p per item more than they do in the main stores ( It's not like they don't make enough profit). Putting up special offers which are sold out the same day even though it is supposed to last for 2 weeks and putting items with similar colours next to the special offer so that when you are in a rush and flustered you pick up the wrong item and no one tells you at the check out that you have the wrong item even though they have the technology which scans everything . In short they, like every other capitalist enterprise, are unscrupulous crooks who smile while picking your pocket |
