Walmart's current CEO is one of the five CEO's on Jim Cramer's (from CNBC's mad money) hall of shame.
PS: if your goal is anti-Walmart you wont get far ranting biased oppinions, the market fallows what it wants unless the media say they shoulden't ;). |

I retired from Wal-Mart after 20 years. Like other multi-national corporations job #1 is to make money. They are very good at making money. They are honest merchants and they do not violate the laws of the land. They will use their power and money to change the law to their benefit, they do give millions of dollars to buy political favor in every country in which they operate. While they give millions of dollars to charities, it amounts to a fraction of 2% of their profits.
Over 70% of what you buy in a Wal-Mart store comes from China and they are directly responcible for sending millions of good paying jobs out of the USA.
Is Wal-Mart good for the USA? Is it a good place to work? After they export the good paying jobs to Mexico, China and India, it's about all that's left.
Wal-Mart doesn't hate us and I don't hate Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is just doing what it's designed to do and that's to make money. But, in my opinion, it's not good for America.
So what can we do? Shop elsewhere! Wal-Mart's convinced the world that they always have the lowest price. That's not so. There are plenty of local merchants who beat their prices every day on some items. So buy what you can from other stores as often as possible. |

wal-mart isnt all that bad. like starbucks they are just really good at allocating to the demand and giving the needed supply. only country bumbkins with guns dislike walmart. go protest against somthing that matters, like abortion or taxes. but playing propaganda boy (which your only giving more publicity to walmart idiot) and fight a useless battle is a waste of time. go swallow the stuff under the sink. |

Walmart has cheaper home furnishing than Target and a lot of their stores are regular smaller ones, not the big ones. They violate the 99cents rule with 97cents. Their prices cause a loss of tax. They do their accounting from the register sales without waiting until the returns desk. |

Why are you protesting Wal-Mart? Do you hate the sales tax revenues it generates for your community? You know, the money paying for public schooling and all that insignificant crap. Or do you hate the jobs it provides? I mean, people really shouldn't have to work, right? Or maybe you hate the commerce it draws into an area? Who needs that! Let people go to some other town to do all of their shopping!
Really, get over your problems and get a life. Don't harrass other people by creating a scene and making their shopping experience terrible. If you don't like Wal-Mart, don't shop there. Leave everyone else alone. They can make decisions for themselves. |
