Please give me suggestions. I am not sure how to phrase this, I don't know what to say and I am concerned of the reaction that my boss is going to have. Please help me any advice that you have will be great. I am really not sure of the best way to handle this situation. What would you say to your boss? Has anyone else ever felt like this? |

Sad to say, but the reality is that your boss's job isn't to make you feel "appreciated", it's to make money for the company any way he/she can.
If you honestly think your boss will be open to hearing it, then I'd have a talk. If you don't think so then an e-mail may well set him/her off. Send off some resumes or job applications before you try to talk. Better safe than sorry, after all.
If all you really need is to hear it, then ask your boss how your doing and how you can improve. If you're doing okay but need some improvements, fine, all is good. But if it turns out you get smacked down with no real reasons then get another job.
I will point out: If it's bad enough that you're trying to write e-mails, freaking out about it, and asking Yahoo Answers then it's time to seriously get a better job instead of wasting your time putting up with it. You're not being paid enough to "fix" anyone. That's what shrinks are for, and they get paid a whole lot. |

Ask your boss face to face if he or she is happy with your work.
This is not the kind of thing to do with email because it can easily be taken the wrong way.
You also did not give enough Information about why you are not feeling appreciated. I mean, for all I know you and your co-worker are 20 something and were spoiled by your parents and need constant affirmation to feel appreciated.

Be careful. With the economic situation as it is, you just might be told " since you don't like it here, there's the door."
You can always look elsewhere. Send out resumes and look for another job. Meanwhile, don;t jeopardize a paycheck.
