You would not have to pay them a decent wage-who are they gonna complain to ?

You wouldn't be paying social security taxes on them because they don't exist.
You can cheat them out of what you were going to pay cause they can't really do much about it.
You can even charge them for use of equipment and supplies you provide that they need for the job.
In other words, a lot of the benefits you get as a citizen on the job you can decide not to extend to them because they have no power or rights as an illegal.
Addendum: This isn't my recipe for running a company. All of these practices are despicable to do to fellow human beings just trying to get through life and feed their families.

Its cheaper in the same sense that its cheaper to acquire a tube of toohpaste by stashing it in your pocket and walking out of the store, as opposed to exchanging money for it in the checkout lane.
