My math teacher says that Starbucks is an evil empire and I should stop supporting them, is he right?
I was just wondering.

Starbucks has an excellent record in buying fair trade coffee, which is more than can be said for many of its major competitors. In 2005, it was responsible for 10% of fair trade coffee imports globally. You can help increase this demand by choosing the fair trade option from the menu.

In my view, you should support your local independent coffee store (unless of course the coffee sucks!). Then you know the money goes into the pocket of someone in your local area, not a shareholder.

It is not an evil empire, but you stop paying their exorbitant prices and save your money to use for college.
