doktordbel | ?My supervisor is under the impression that she is in charge of something? |
How do I break it to her that we're all just painted horses going round and round on the same carousel? |

hye, out in your time and take homw your paycheck, who cares about her dillusions aof grandure. |

You may find it difficult. Painted horses on carousels are not real and find communication difficult. Try being plastic ducks on hook-a-duck instead. |

Well, she has the title "supervisor" for some reason, now doesn't she? Sounds to me like she may know a little more than you or maybe she would be asking the same question about you! |

supervisor= boss |

She has responsibilities that you don't have and don't understand. The only way to alleviate the problem is become a supervisor there or somewhere else and conduct your group as you see fit...with the painted horses theory. See how long you keep your job. |

most all (retail?) supervisors are like this! its like they all come from the same planet or something! power trips galore! they act so dumb, and above everyone yet they usually dont even know what they are doing......... the best thing to do is print out this ! your question (carousel, thats good!) and all the answers and leave it on her desk without her even knowing its you!! (unless there are just a few of you and its obvious haha) but if you dont care go ahead!
ive had soo many of these supervisors! they are a reason why I quit, its like duh these jobs are a dime a dozen, all pay the same and are not a "career move" so where do they get off? they have serious insecurity issues.... ive never even strived to be a manger and have been offered those positions many times and even turn them down...... its just not my thing ... my real career im striving for doesnt involve these sort of structures....... |

as long as she's your supervisor, you're wrong - she IS in charge of you, and if you tell her she's a painted horse, she'll probably not want to be in charge of you much longer. wise up. |

Now, now....she is the boss of you. You just keep smilin' and let her know you're happy with it all. Say great things like "that's nice" in a slow southern USA drawl. That always goes over well. |

LOL she is the supervisor you are just a pi-on. You better keep your mouth shut if you want to keep your job or you will be doing the stuff nobody wants to do. |

Well, maybe it's the "superviser" title. I guess that would confuse anyone that they are in charge. |

What the hell are you talking about? Supervisors are supposed to be in charge of SOMETHING! |
|

Q-Rius Kate

Lol! Try getting her to dress up with you as a painted horse and travel 'round and 'round in a carousel! Haha :D. Um...Yes, I--I know... I'm corny...
But really, if she's taking her role as supervisor to the extreme, perhaps talking to *her* supervisor and expressing your discontent would help curb her overly controlling tendencies :). |

If she is "your" supervisor, she is in charge of something...YOU AND YOU CO-WORKERS.
When something goes well - she gets the accolades; when things go wrong - she gets the heat.
You may not like or agree with what she does/says, but she has been placed in a supervisory position to oversee your (and you co-workers) performance(s).
Just like she has someone to answer to, so do you - HER.
It's the way LIFE is. We all have someone to answer to.
It may seem mundane, inane, and even asinine, but that's the way of the world.
If you don't like being an employee - become your own boss. Just remember, even as your own boss, you will have someone to answer to (the bank that loaned you the money to start your business, the landlord that owns the building your work in, and ultimately - GOD. He gave you the ability to branch out on your own). |
