Cell phone companies are often willing to give you a discount on a new phone if your contract is expiring and you ask.
If they aren't willing to deal then why don't you actually go with a different cell phone provider. Your cell phone number can be ported to the new provider so you can keep it.
Switching back and forth is an excellent way to get the latest cell phones at the lowest price if your current provider won't match the competition's offer.

I would say no. They will spam you with snail mail ads but no real deals. They (Verizon) don't care honestly if you leave or stay. They fouled up my billing for a solid year, their fault and offered to refund 30% of the mistake for 3 months billing. Seem fair? I didn't think so either. So, I doubt they will offer you anything special man, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Good luck.

Likely not. I'm sure they'd be happy to extend the contract, although I highly doubt you could get any sort of deal.

No! They are all so big companies that they don't care. They will tell you the best prices for what you need and free phones. I have found purchasing over the phone to their purchasing dept. can sometimes allow better deals than outlets are allowed to promote.

Just a single personal phone, I don't see much of a deal. A business account with at least several phones; you bet, but you really have to fight to not sign a 2 yr deal and still get free top of the line phones. Also if you don't go good at one of their stores; try another.
