Mystery shoppers???
has anyone ever heard of a mystery shopper.... its something that you get paid to go shopping at certain stores and take secret serveys about their store..... if you have.... how dose this work...and is it real...

Yes, mystery shoppers are real but there are some fake companies out there. If the company asks you for ANY money upfront, they are a scam. Legitimate companies only request your name and address and then they will send you a W-4. Unfortunately, I do not have a website to give you but keep that in mind when shopping around. Best of luck to you!! :)

Yes it is a market research tool they use to find out how well customers are served. Before taking on task, find out the name of the company, whether they really do market research surveys or consulting for businesses, etc. Any form of upfront money you have to shell out should be avoided.

Lots of these, almost all are scams.. A scam I heard the other day was the scammer sends you a check (out of state) for say $1200 but only wants you to spend $125 (just an example) and offers to pay you $75.. tells you to cash the check and send him the $1000 and do the survey...thinking you not only made $75 for shopping plus get to keep what you buy with the $125...then after a couple of weeks your bank informs you the $1200 check is stolen/fake and wants you to pay the entire $1200 ..So not only are you out the $1200 but also the $1000you sent back to the scammer...

Yes, it is a real job . . . I used to work for Market Pulse, based in Auckland New Zealand and did a lot of this type of work. Basically, they pay you to go shopping for a particular item or service, and you later report on the service you recieved and the level of satisfaction you had with the experience. Sometimes, you get money to buy an item, often one you have to return but sometimes you get to keep it; Generally, they are just interested in how your inquiry is treated by the staff.

The pay is not great, but it's interesting work :)

I'm not sure who decideds who becomes a mystery shopper, but I do know that you get paid to do it, and that often times, you get to keep what you purchase, even though you are (sometimes) reimbursed for what was purchased. A lot of times, you go through a store to make sure that they're employees are doing what they're supposed to be. For example, I work at Target and we have mystery shoppers come through to make sure our cashiers are asking people if they'd like to apply for a Target Credit Card....stuff like that.
