After numerous attemps to reach you have failed, we are pleased to inform you though this letter that out network system shows you as the lucky winner of unclamed prize money in the amount of 43,000 USD. The system indicates that u won the award on march 2nd,2007 sweepstakes draws.
All participants wee selected though a computer ballot system drawn from reader's digest, publisher's clearning house, computer games, sweepstakes date base, are from australia new zealand, europe north and south american and south aftica and asia. as this is out international promotions program, which is conducted annually CONGRATULATIONS!!!! it is important to remind you of the fefral and internationl laws guiding the fairness in personal collecton of cash prizes. the law requires a winner to pay app;ocable tazes and processing fees before all the funds are released, the same laws also prevent you from payin |

This is an extremely common scam. Here's how it works - You deposit the check, withdraw the cash when it is available in your account and send it to the company. In a week or so, the bank tells you that the check bounced, and you have to pay them back the amount you withdrew. And you will be liable to pay them.
THERE IS NO LEGAL INTERNATIONAL LOTTERY IN ANY COUNTRY.
just do a search on 'lottery fraud" "international lottery scam" etc. and you will find plenty of examples, many with almost the exact same wording as in your letter. |

You bet. No doubt they want to give it to YOU for some unknown reason. All you have to do is send them either a fee to accept the prize or give them your social security number and other pertinent personal information so they can steal your identity.
In any case, you will get nothing but robbed. |

Oh yes, it most certainly is a scam. You should not have to pay any fees, taxes, or other expenses in order to claim anything you have won. If anything, they should take the taxes out of your winnings. |
