1. The inability to communicate your goals clearly without reservation.
2. Talk to them seperately, note the pluses and minuses, note their solution to the problem, make up your mind on what needs to be done, and sit them down together for a review.
3.Things will not get done, mistakes will be made, no one will want to fess up to them. People focus on their own tasks instead of working as a group.
4. Communications classes(?), but more so create a work environment with clear motives and no hush hush conversations. When there is a problem address it IMMEDIATELY.

1 Lose talks, egoism, jealousies, inferiority/superiority complex, behavioral differences, short temperaments etc..etc..
2 Counseling and frank talks, fixing job responsibilities, and finding lasting solutions. Solutions may vary between problem to problem but there is no problem without solution.
3 Working environment becomes tense and people lose interest in work and ultimately result in poor overall performance of the department.
4 Clear cut responsibility metrics and every employee should be aware of what is expected from him. Benefits of team spirit and team work should be understood by one and all. If required management training classes can be conducted in leadership, team work, commitment to work etc to improve overall performance.Convince the employees about the requirement of making work place a pleasure center with the co operation of all.
5 By creating enjoyable working environment, if required by conducting training classes and regular counseling. Working life is part of our life and there is absolute necessity to enjoy working environment. |

1. Conflict where I work comes from some people slacking while other employees are grafting away - often on a whole lot less money! Salaries are the other source of conflict!
2. Get the feuding duo in front of me, listen to the problem and ask them how they are going to resolve it. If they can't think of anything, I have to lay down the company rules. A well organised company often has procedures laid out already.
3. It can often mean lack of co-operation between departments and lack of communication between colleagues. This could lose valuable information for clients and that could lead to loss of revenue. It also affects the other people in the department and causes rifts and cliques.
4. Communication is vital. Weekly meetings with everyone getting involved and an open door policy to discuss private issues.
5. I just tell them that ultimately, if they cannot work out their differences, they will have to review their relationship with the company. Their commitment to the company has to come first before petty squabbles. Legitimate complaints are dealt with swiftly and generally resolved without difficulties but now and again, diplomatic efforts and legislation come into play. I have always found being open and honest the best policy but you have to do that without leaving yourself wide open to legal wrangles. Its not easy but its part of the challenge of management so I accept it. |
