When payroll is handed out he sometimes states not to cash it until Saturday or later today because he is waiting on a check to cover it. Or else he doesn't say anything. Either way the bank either refuses to cash it or it bounces. This happens on a weekly basis. It has become a race to the bank on a first come basis in order to get your check cashed w/ whatever little funds are available. He employs 54 people. He not only does this w/ the employees but w/ his vendors , creditors etc., and our health insurance also. The employees are fed up and need some answers that I just cannot give them. Any suggestions?

Get together a get a labor lawsuit against this person and also report them to the B.B.B. But, band together and bring this employer down remember theres power in numbers. Best of luck. |

It is illegal to write checks that you know you cannot cover. He must be paying huge amounts of fees to his bank! I would ask your bank who you can report him to for check fraud. |

Contact your states Attorney General's office. Writing a check you know is going to bounce, or not paying employees witihin a specified amount of time after they worked is a crime. The AG's office may also give you other resources regarding his stiffing of not only employees, but other creditors as well. I had a problem like this with an employer once. I called the AG's office. They were helpful.
You might also want to hire a private lawyer to represent the workers of the business. |

are you in a union? maybe you could go on strike. even if there is no union, you could have a 'wildcat' strike with your co-workers. also if he is deep in debt maybe a collection agency can do something about it. |

third off, i'd report him to your state's attorney general and your local labor board |

I suggest you contact your local district attorney. This is completely illegal! Of course, they may shut your boss down and you may have to look for work. But, that may be better for you in the long run. |

contact your local district attorney, this is a criminal matter - handing out bad checks can mean jail time.
of course, the company might get shut down, and you'd probably lose your job, but it's going to happen sooner or later anyways. |
