I bet you have seen alot of neglect and abuse.Unfortunately the weak,confused,helpless are usually the one's who get this treatment.You have the unique opportunity to make anonymous complaints to the department of social services.Keep you eyes open and be an advocate for this vulnerable population.You never have to give your name and they have to make an inspection when a complaint is received.Go to your state social services web site.Also keep you a log with with dates,names,times this is very effective.Good Luck you will be doing a great service |

Yep, me too. Some of the people who work in nursing homes are terrible. They get jobs as CNA's because they think there is nothing else they can do, then the residents don't get the care and compassion they deserve. Don't get me wrong, I've seen some excellent care givers, but most of them don't care about their job or the patients. The same goes for nurses. If you hate the job, don't do it, it's not fair to the people who live there and who still deserve to have some dignity and respect in their lives. |

I used to be the maintenance man too. It got to hard, seeing people one day and talking with them and then being gone the next. What a sad place to work over time. I ended up leaving because it got to be too much. |

I already tried to work there. You must be gifted for it.
Otherwise its really unbearable place to be.
Specially when you think you have personally good probabilities to get ther yourself anyway later! |
