Now part time blockbuster shift lead so I got a question?
I will start on Monday at Blockbuster as a shift leader. What is the traning like, I heard it will take four weeks. Also what will I have to do as a shift leader.
"Training" are things called modules. Think of interactive lessons on the computer. A guy (who sounds WAY too excited) walks you through scenarios and policies. It's cake but each one can take 30 min to an hour to finish, They'll probably have you complete 4 or 5 a day then the rest is just running a shift, learning how to receive and send things to and from stores or vendors. Then other things like managing the money during the day or night. You'll be in charge of opening the store or closing the store. And almost any question a customer has will come to you. You're kinda the buffer between the customer and the mgr. You do as much as you can then hand it to him/her. It's a very easy job. The only time you have it tough if when your CSRs aren't selling, you kind of take the heat if you can't get your crew to sell or listen to you when you let them know what jobs need to get done.

I heard they make you watch like 1000 lame movies and then they give you a comprehensive test full of actual dumb questions from customers like "have you seen that movie with that dude from animal house in it, you know the one that wore a toga?" Then they teach you how to pick up the scanner gun and pull the trigger so you know how to rent a movie. Then of course comes the alphabet, man it's tough...all the movies are in alphabetical order and stuff. When you do the cash register you have to learn to count change.
