If you're good at it, you'll go far in a large organization. If not, you won't. And in a small company, keep away! I'm talking about "politics", not gossip, deceit and lies.

First of all, describe "office politics" It is not gossip, deceit, and underhanded tactics that challenge normal human integrity.
Politics is when people choose their words and actions based on how they want others to react rather than based on what they really think.
Much the same as lobbying for a cause, or developing an alliance with a certain department, group or person. It thrives in every business out there and when used effectively or ineffectively it is a huge contributor to developing a companies culture. The politics within the work environment is usually developed by the CEO or the Sr. Mgt as they are the individuals who shape what is allowable or tolerated within the work environment. If they promote an open & honest workplace and people can discuss & debate openly then the culture will reflect one of a team atmosphere that effectively utilizes the entire teams brain power. If the decision making process is hierarchical and top down dictatorship style the teams brain power is under utilized and the team will never achieve its fullest potential.

Its the most worst game.....and should always be avoided.....as it not only spoils the work environment, but also effects the productivity of the employees.,,,,and under performers may be rewarded and good performers might loose out in the dirty game.....so friends...just do ur work and leave the office....don't indulge in these dirty politics.....let the government play that game....
