Jimmy P is incorrect. Amway is not closed in the US. They are still going strong. They have an online division called Quixtar.
I was a distributor in the early 80's, when you actually made money selling products. I made about $2000 per month. But, I quit when the pressure was on to heavily recruit members.
It's an MLM. Stay away from these. They're 99% hype. Most people actually LOSE money, but are too ashamed to admit making a mistake, so you never know about it.
Ask the person recruiting you to show you actual tax records showing his/her revenue and costs. My guess is that they will only tell you about a small handful of examples. Remember, there are at least 2-3 million Amway distributors. I'll bet there are only a few hundred that make significant money at this. They will tell you about the POTENTIAL, but they won't tell you ACTUALS. |

It's an MLM that makes the majority of their money getting start up people to buy a ton of their products! I have seen people get into it over the years and even those who were good at sales did not stick with it. |

What's good about Amway: There's a good chance you'll get to go to motivational meetings where other Amway distributors will talk about concepts of achievement and personal development (possibly for 2 hours on Saturday morning).
What's bad about Amway: They really don't tell you much of anything about how to sell their products. You're totally on your own there.
What's indifferent about Amway: There isn't anything special about the products. They're as good as some brand names you find in a store, but not as good as others. They cost more than some, but less than others.
Before you sign up with Amway: Go to a dollar store and buy two cartloads of detergent and such, take the price stickers off, and sell them to your friends. If this process leaves you feeling excited and your friends are asking for more, then you would probably do well with Amway. |

Amway has GREAT products. They are overpriced because of the multi-level marketing program they use. A lot of people have gotten wealthy building networks NOT selling their fine products. It's a cheap way to get into business for yourself while keeping your regular job. Good Luck! Mike S |

If you can afford to waste your time then its yes. If you would put in same amount of effort and time elsewhere you will be sucessful.. Amway was invented in America, its closed by govt due to Tax fraud. Its something like " Money Chain" you are promised a lot and after a while you realize that the return vs investment has not much value.
Since Amway operation closed here they moved their operation to countries like India, Malaysia, China etc. |
