I don't think there is a single department store anywhere where everything is made in the USA.

thepizzadude
that is stupid considering they carry products made by Sony, Hitachi, and many other japanese companies.

links305
come on now how could that even be possible

Kutekymmee
very FALSE.

a long time ago, Wal-Mart was proud to sell only "made in USA" items. that all changed when Sam Walton died and his kids took over. now 90% of their stuff is made in China.

Nope..
Most of what Wal-Mart sells is made in China...

Watchman
No. The electronic goods alone are produced outside the U.S. Bikes are made in China.

No way, in fact Walmart is notorious for beating down retailers to get the lowest price, not good business practices and ethics, and most of it is not made here!

i heard that looking at the questions you ask you must be a freak.

♥Popotitozz♥
Yea rite, all that crap is probably made in China

wal*fart got in a bunch of trouble when they tried to fool the public advertising in their stores telling people " made in the U.S.A. they actually sell a huge majority of items from overseas and mexico. they dont care if it is from sweatshops as long as it increases their profits

At one point I think that was what Walmart was promoting as true, but as they expanded into every corner of our waking lives, the capacity for American companies just doesnt exist... plus the low price model doesn't cut it using US bases manufacturing.

Unfortunate for us... we will propel China into the future, and their demand for oil and goods will go up as well, driving overall prices up around the world for oil... we are spiralling down the drain...

NO NO NO walmart is about the all mighty DOLLAR . The Waltons don't care if everything was made in sweat shop in Guam with 5minute breaks for the Christmas holiday and 1 bathroom break a week. The truth is all the top fortune 100 companies have dealings with with oversea business. Its the American way . >< LIVE IN USA. Made in China><

Made in the U.S.A?
Despite a well-publicized "Made in the U.S.A." campaign, 85 percent of the stores' items are made overseas, often in Third World sweatshops. In fact, only after Wal-Mart's "Buy American" ad campaign was in full swing did the company become the country's largest importer of Chinese goods in any industry. By taking its orders abroad, Wal-Mart has forced many U.S. manufacturers out of business. The chain was broadly criticized for being the primary distributor of many goods attracting controversy, including Kathie Lee Gifford's clothing line, Disney's Haitian-made pajamas, child-produced clothing from Bangladesh and sweatshop-produced toys and sports gear from Asia. Difficult working conditions also exist in the United States: In 1991, labor inspectors found labels for Wal-Mart brands being made in Manhattan's Chinatown. There, 16 and 17 year-old Chinese immigrants without permits had been working for one month without being paid.
