Primerica contacted me about my resume...Is this a scam?

I got contacted by some guy saying he found my resume online and wants me to come to a meeting this upcoming saturday. I asked him if they were in the mortgage business (which is my area) and he said they do all sorts of things. I did a little research and found there are some pyramid type scams out there. Has anyone else been contacted by Primerica with a similar situation? I just don't want to waste a whole Saturday morning to drive 30 miles away only to find out its not really a job opportunity. Any help would be appreciated....Thanks

I've been in Primerica Financial Services for 4 years now and it is definitely not a scam. I have a variable life insurance license, a mortgage license, and a Series 6&63 license. As you can see from my licenses, I can do lots of thing for the client.

Primerica isn't a job opportunity. Its a business opportunity. If you are looking to be an employee where you earn a salary job, you are looking at the wrong company. Primerica is looking to train and develop independent business leaders. I think you should check the company out and find out for yourself.

If you have questions, you should write it down and ask the representative who contacted you.

Do you really think the Ivy League educated brass at Citigroup would allow a "scam" to be part of their business? Give me a break! These people would claim PFS is a scam even if everyone in PFS made money except for just one person! "Oh see, I know someone who didn't make any money in that thing, so it's a scam". Ya? Well I know lot's of people in construction who don't make any money either. Does that make construction a scam? You name the business, and I will show you people who get rich in it and people who are broke in it. So just because PFS is like any other business it's a scam? Don't be so gulible.

Technically, it isn't a SCAM but most people don't make any money at it.

Primerica has only one test that you have to pass to be contacted by them: You must be breathing and they may wave that one now and again.

Usually, if your resume' is online, they will contact you. They pretty much contact everybody.

its not a scam but i would stay away from them as far as possible.

same thing happened to me.

pretty much.. u work ur butt off and you get no money. the person that recruits you gets the money from the customers that you bring in. when you become better trained and more knowledgable in the field, you recruit newcomers and get their money.

you dont make much money at first but in the long run, you will get paid eventually.

and when i say that you work hard.. you work hard. they make you do all sorts of stuff and you dont see a dime

Don't do it. What you read is accurate. They just want you to push their schemes on other unsuspecting jobseekers like yourself. Use your Saturday morning for something more productive, like sleeping in and having pancakes for breakfast. You'll be a lot happier.
