Question for managers/supervisors only?
This is a little quote I made up: "If your going to be rude to your employees, then beware of their last day on the job."
Seriously, could come in the form of a perfectly legal prank, or if it's a retail or restaurant business the employee could walk out in the middle of the shift and leave you incredibly short on staff, in other words, they have nothing to loose if its their last day anyway, except maybe two hours of pay.

my question to employers is, what do you think about this? (im not saying dont give constuctive criticism or advice i just mean employers who are constantly rude)
Additional Details
they could be cooking something up for weeks prior to their last day for all you know.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking...
if it's what do I think about your qoute the I say.. it's an ok quote.
Furthermore, if you have a rude boss/supervisor the you should leave and find another job. Good luck, life's too short to waste it on a miserable job. Also If I had an unhappy employee I would tell them the same, because they will only bring down the other employees with their unhappiness.

employers who are constantly rude are very shortsighted . They end up losing their best workers.

Personally I don't have that problem because I am never rude or nasty to any of our employees in fact im probably too far the other way.
However you have made a very good valid point there!

I don't give them the opportunity , when they say I'm giving you my two weeks notice I say that's not necessary , you can leave now ...

In a Company that I worked for a long, long time ago management cooked up a little something that they called "mandatory sick time" which was designed to prevent such a scenario. If a long term employee was being let go they would call him/her at home on the Monday of their last week and simply tell them to stay home for the week with pay. To coincide with that they would courier over all the employees personal effects and their separation papers. It was a very impersonal way to terminate someone but it resulted in fewer bawling matches and fist fights on the premises. And less damage to company property.

I can completely understand where you are coming from before I created and started my own business I have had employers who were rude and I could and wanted to do so many thingsto them personally to but stop and think about this one, when you applied for the next job and you have to list your history of employment and your potential next boss contacts with your last boss and the boss dishes on you then you have allowed your last boss to control over your employment life and then they will have the last laugh.

As a manager in a policy making position, I have never been purposely rude to any employee, I have blown my top and made a fool of my self on occasion. I always publicly apologise as well as privately do so. When the employee stands up and defends themselves against my inappropriate conduct I make note in their file that they have leadership qualities; I have been able to promote several of them.

sorry but im not a manager or supervisor, but I do work for a large grocery store chain. And I admit that me and my co workers always joke about what we are going to do on our last day at work. One guy says he wants to walk by the yogurts ( we have tons of them) and knock them all down on the floor and the go home.

You can't manage if you are paranoid.
You need to be a firm boss without being a jerk.
I have employees that work for me that have husbands and family members who belong to gangs.
It enters my mind every single time I need to write them up or discipline them.
I can't be a effective boss if I let things impair my judgement, like the possiblity of a drive-by in my parking lot.

I think you usually get the respect you give.

Here is a good website I myself had the same problems. I'm a manager as well. You can catch more bees with honey but some people really have idea how to be civil.
