Richard Branson, richy rich?
what do you think, will Richard Branson soon become the richest man in the world? He owns so many different types of businesses and he's still expanding and introducing new products. One of his recent products include wine, 'Virgin Wines' as you may have guessed. Along with all the other obvious i.e. Virgin trains, airline, music store, mobile phones, broadband, television, telephone (a.k.a Virgin Media), gym. So what do you think?
Additional Details
Thanx tanzer360, i didnt think of that. Again, I go and ask questions before doing the research

Branson's personal wealth is about $3.8 billion, which puts him well behind the current world's richest, Bill Gates @$56 billion. He's not in the top 100 of wealthy people, he is in fact listed at around 230. Not to say that he is not an accomplished, astute business man, but to become the richest you need to do something that changes the way the world works or lives. Take a look at the co-founders of Google, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, both have net worth around $17 billion whch they attained by the time they were 30yrs old. They did something very unique that got them where they are at a relatively young age. Branson needs to be involved in an extremely high growth business to become number 1. At 57, I don't think he will get there.

Didn't he sell the music stores? But yes the man is an astute business man who started from nothing. Good luck to him

heyteach
It's possible--he's extremely business savvy with no doubt and relatively young and very healthy--so I'd say the odds are in his favor to increase his wealth substantially.

However Carlos "Slim" Helu is a heck of a benchmark to catch up to.

I guess now that Gates gave most of his away, Buffett is getting more generous, etc. that it could make for an interesting horse race.

He's awesome, so I hope so.

Yes, he sold the music stores, to 'Savvy' or something I believe.
