i have recently bought a product from ebay which is going to be delivered by royal mail the only problem is ive heard they stopped delivering mail today until christmas is over is this true? |

According to the royal mail's website, the last day for delivery before Christmas by first class is today. However, by special delivery it's the 22nd Dec. |

Depends where you live. Normally it's the 21st i think but in north and mid staffordshire, some parts of south cheshire and stoke-on-trent the posties are on and off strike at the moment. If you are expecting a christmas parcel from this area then don't be surprised if you don't receive it. |

The date you are thinking of is the last RECOMMENDED last date for posting. For standard first class that was yesterday. The post office says that they will try and deliver post sent with a first class stamp yesterday before Christmas. Post sent after that may not be delivered until after Christmas when they start deliveries again on Wednesday, 27th December.
My post office tells me that posting up until tomorrow (Thursday) via first class will most likely get there as the post office tries it's hardest to clear all the post they have before Christmas. However, as the last delivery is Saturday morning I wouldn't recommend buying anything from eBay after today and expect it to arrive by Saturday unless they are sending it via a guaranteed service such as Special Delivery (cut off is around 5.00 pm on Thursday but time is set locally) or Special Delivery with Saturday Guarantee (cut off is around 3.00 pm on Friday 22nd but time is set locally and once they receive all the items that can be delivered, they will stop accepting items for this service).
Amazon have special deals with Royal Mail hence their items being almost guaranteed to get through even if they send them out today. |

Royal Mail will be delivering up until the 23rd but because its such a busy time for them at christmas- there is usually a lot of letters/parcels that wont make it in time for christmas. I would suggest for anyone else to send it 1st class recorded post and it will have a better chance of arriving before xmas. |
