So I sent $195 through standard letter mail in highest denomination bills and put it in a piece of paper folder three times, then in the envelope. It was sent out feb 1st to vancouver from ontario and it still hasn't arrived. I couldn't see the cash through the letter by looking at it, nor could I feel it through the letter. It still hasn't arrived as of today and I'm wondering if this is a cause for concern. Is a chance it could be stolen, if so what are the odds?
The letter didn't look like a birthday card or anything, just an envelope with the address and return address written in pen and nothing else. |

You should kiss the money goodbye.....there are people that work for the postal service that are not so honest........they know what money feels like through envelopes....they have felt enough to be able to spot them a mile away..... |

The US post office strongly recommends that you not send cash through the mail, and I'm sure the Canadian post office has the same or similar guidelines. Generally it's really a bad idea, and I hope that you don't have to learn this lesson the hard way.
10 days does seem like a long time for a regular letter, but give it a few more days. If it did get lost, there's really not a whole lot you can do about it. |

I work at the usps and it is highly unlikely that anyone there tampered with it. Though they always say not to send cash through the mail. This is because of a number of reasons. Sometimes letters with lots of paper in them could get stuck in a machine and torn, then puff money everywhere. What has prob happened though is that your letter is not being moved through as standard letter. If it is so thick sometimes they move it with the larger envelopes and it takes longer. It also could be misdirected somewhere depending on how clearly the handwriting is. I am not sure where you are located, and where the nearest processing center is to you either. Say they stuck it in the box on the 1st, well the mail may not have been picked up until the 2nd. Then they truck it 1 day to a processing plant. Then onto a plane then another plane, then a processing plant. Sometimes it takes 7 - 10 days. Whoever sent it to you though should have bought deliver confirmation for the letter. Well worth the extra $2. |

wrong move! u shld just sent it thru money order or direct dep. im not saying its lost already but been there, done that, end up crying. ods are might still be in the mail coz of weather or some reason but next time dnt do it again |
