What do we do to have this man investigated? Without outing ourselves for we will surely be canned.We also have a co-manager who has had numerous relations with employees under him and also has a sexual harassment lawsuit pending against him.But he continue to work for the store and assumes his co-manager role.Every time the store is up for our quarterly bonus it starts out as high as $500,by the time is all said and done we are lucky to get $100.The last store this store manager came from suffered the same thing,now that he's gone they prosper.Who can we complain to anonymously to get him investigated.Our store is going downhill fast.We have familys too,save us. |

Who is your parent company? Where are HIS managers?
First, find out what the policy on whistleblowers is, and if it is a written policy, ask for a copy. Then, if you have a policy that whistleblowers are protected from retributory firing, OUT HIM. If you don't, then I suggest you contact the State Attorney General where you are and ask if there is a blanket statute that would cover you and the other employees from retribution if you turned in illegal or unethical practices to his supervisors.
Since this co manager already has a pending lawsuit, anything you say to damage that lawsuit (for the person who brought it against him) could be detrimental to your case. But you will have to testify if you're subpoenaed, so keep that in mind. You might want to add a lawsuit of your own--but that will entail getting an attorney and paying him or her to handle it. Attorneys don't really do much with private businesses--unless there's something in it for them.
You don't say what type of store this is. That might make a difference as to who you contact.

I would suggest contacting your corporate office or human resources department, if there is one. If this is a "Mom & Pop's" store, I am not sure of what course of action you need to take. You could contact the BBB here http://us.bbb.org/WWWRoot/SitePage.aspx?site=113&id=6cda12e2-5967-437f-876e-bd452a591b91 -- that's a shame that he keeps getting away with this and that he is a manager. I wonder if this company you work for does background checks when hiring management. |

if you work for a chain, just call the corporate office number and ask if they have a hot line to report things like this. most big ones do.
if they don't just talk to an exec manager and tell them what you think.
If it's a small store, you may have to go to the owenr directly.
Otherwise, get out of there. It's too easy to get blamed for someone elses theft. |
