i work for a company and......the co-workers and sometimes even the supervisor. talk to like in some matters that isnt acceptable in the work force. Saying oh suck on a ****, and other phrases. If i get all this on tape. could i sue this company? |

Hi, It might be offensive language, but I don't think it can be considered sexual harassment. It is the same as saying a cuss word. Why is everyone so quick to sue someone? If you sue, you will NEVER be able to get a job, because it will be public knowledge and no one will hire someone who is in litigation or has won a judgment with a previous employer for fear you will do the same with them. |

Dang, see ... instead of trying to sue the company, why don't you talk to 'them?' - You won't get any money if you sue and plus, you're putting yourself at risk too. Let them know how you feel - If they don't stop, confront it to the manager and if the manager not doing anything, bring it to the big boss! |

If you are offended by this behavior, say so. Why is it always about money. Will money change the fact that you heard it? If it doesn't offend you, then let it go. It's just their way of getting through another day in a boring job. |

You need to discuss this diplomatically with your supervisor. A lot depends on the nature of the company and the nature of the workers who are doing the offensive talking. If you are male and they are male it may not actually qualify as sexual harassment unless the comments are specifically directed at you with the intent of affecting you sexually.
I'd be really careful about any threats to sue the company. That doesn't look very good on a resume. If you are having problems with your employer I would suggest looking for other work. |

it's not really neccessary sexual harassment if they are not only directing at you or other female co-wokers. if they get use to saying these kinda things then it's more like they have bad manners rather than purposely harassing you.
but if you think otherwise, try to talk to HR or your superior or theirs. that might solve the problem. if it doesn't then go to court. |
