The marketing plan of any business should include both business and charity.
Doing business is what the company is all about. Without concentrating on business, it would soon cease to exist.
Charity can be an important part of marketing. When a business helps support a charity, it gets wide-spread publicity and gains public goodwill.

I used to be a large fund raiser (for free) for different programs in our area to help children in need. I owned businesses then, and I own one now. I give to many, many charities, and can only donate so much time and items these days. The problem lies in that EVERY charity asks me for donations on a constant basis. What I have to do, is to decide which ones are most important to me........such as the area schools, hospice, children in need of operations, etc..
I think businesses and private parties should ALL be aware of the need for all of us to pitch in and to help! I have always been the largest money raiser in our area (always, for free), making speeches at all the different groups that meet on a regular basis, requesting at least $500 from each group, always getting that, and then, more from private persons in the group. I am a (free) Court Advocate for children and families. I feed any who come to my door, and in this area, they all know to come to my home for food and clothing, etc.. I've done it for so long, it is just natural. My mother always did it, and I've kept her 'way' alive, by doing it, myself. |
