Kitty G | Should I report this cashier or am I taking this too seriously? |
My friend and I walked into mall, we bought a drink, and the cashier was supposed to give us back one dollar. Right after I gave her money, she put it in and was like stare straight ahead-I thought it was strange. But I was busy trying to find spare changes that I almost missed it until my friend reminded me. (since she was eager to get the drink -_-')
Then we waited until couple people went through and we asked her for it. She insisted that she gave us back (liar!) and pretended like nothing happened. She called someone else to reason with us. We showed her our pockets-which only had few cards and some coins ranging from 5 cents to 10 cents. Eventually, this OTHER girl gave us one dollar back. However, we felt so uncomfortable and so angry. I know people make mistakes, but not in this case. When people made mistake, they'll still remember it after a few minutes..
This beverage chain is pretty big, shall I report her even though this other girl still gave us back our change? Additional Details Hey, thanks for all your answers, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do it. Your answers are all very helpful. |

You should have said something as soon as she did it, since you waited for her to serve more customers I would say no don't report it, but that is all up to you, If you think you should say something then do. |

Obviously she got destracted and forgot to give you your change. This occasionslly happened to workers who have to stand in the same spot doing the same repetative task (ringing items and making change) for hours on end.
You've resolved the situation by speaking with someone else in the store. That's all you need to do. |

She may have been new. If it was busy, everyone's faces were probably blurring together to the point that she wouldn't have recognized her best friend. She also may have been told by co-workers that someone might try to rip-off the company by claiming to be missing change. It sounds like the poor girl was new and scared.
Why did you wait to tell her about the missing change? |

By alerting the other employee, you've already let the establishment know that there was a problem with the cashier.
It may have been an honest mistake. If you had said something to her right away, she probably would have realized that she didn't give you the dollar. Or, even if she was being dishonest, she could have *pretended* that it was a mistake.
Either way, I think the case is closed at this point. |

when you buy something you should ALWAYS pay attention to the cashier...
I would not bother this time because you did get your $ back...
if it happens again however you should complain at the time it happens |
