I don't think they should. Microsoft already shows it can't manage web sites or web-traffic. Their MSN arm is another of a bunch of money-losing operations propped up by its software monopoly.
Let me re-phrase my answer. Yahoo can sell to anyone it wants, but I think MSFT buying Yahoo is a dumb idea. It would be like Daimler buying out Chrysler back in the late 90s. Look at what good it did them! |

Should YAHOO sell to MICROSOFT? For the future, no. Long term, it's a better environment for us all if Microsoft doesn't continue to grow it's share to a majority in everything computer. They're first in software and the internet. Do they need search? No. Do they WANT search? It kind of reminds me of our pre-teen NEEEEEEEEEEDINNNNG something. Also, I'm of the opinion that there is more to Yahoo's future than $44.6B Yahoo still has more growth potential. I hate to see Yahoo sell out to die out, especially while they have tremendous growth potential.
Should MICROSOFT buy YAHOO? Yes. It'll give them the leverage to push Google out of the picture, giving them the coveted #1 search engine spot. |
