Yes, employees should be allowed to shop in their uniforms. Why not? And no, employees should definitely not be allowed to smoke in the break room. There are other people to think about that may not enjoy that. Smoke outside.

Actually many companies don't allow you to shop (or do anything else off the clock) in uniform.

I don't see why they shouldn't be able to shop in their uniforms, I don't see why they can't smoke if they go outside...not in the break room though.

why not, sure if you work there and it is a shop were you can buy something - go for it. What does it mather if you have your uniform on or not. Well and about smoking, you will properly tell I am a Nonsmoker, but never the less I don't think you should smoke in the break room ,unless it is aloud. go outside , go for a walk to take you mind off smoking, so you can kick the habit.
