Am I ready to move into a Government position yet? Or have my productivity levels not yet sank far enough?

Nope, and you'll never be ready for that Government position. Your first failing is that you told the truth about how you wasted your day.
Your second failing is that you said you 'had lunch' which implies that you went out and bought your own. Government people don't buy anything with their own cash.
Your third and most important failing is that you 'Done my personal email.' Tut tut, how do you ever expect to climb the Government tree without reading other peoples email and using it against them. You don't climb by being good at your job, you climb by stamping on others heads!

I've done less, did you watch the Britney slug dance, I did, smoked about a pack of cigarettes in my office, told my secretary "I'm very busy, re-schedule my meetings" surfed the net, drank a pot of coffee, I did have to answer a couple of calls, but then said to secretary "I thought I said I was busy" Phone hasn't rang since. That's 500 quid well earned. I hate Mondays. Lighting another fag as I type. Gov't doesn't pay enough. The joys of being the boss. Oh yes I forgot, I had a nap for an hour after lunch. |

Well I work for the Government and they've got wise to it these days and blocked most internet sites worth looking at so we end up doing work out of sheer boredom! |

I am not sure if the talent to dodge "real" work qualifies for a government job. Despite many jokes I have get known government officials as highly educated and engaged peeople who had to learn an awful lot, develop diplomacy and tact to get ahead, and have to put up with a lot of rejection and critisism by the public.
However, I do rekognize your creativity, eangerness to read the world's news and communicate with others, not at all bad for a start! |
