Well i have an xbox 360 core, that has a ring of death, it was bought at wal mart about a month ago, however i lost the receipt, and i threw out the box. I also recently moved from san Diego California to Sommerset Kentucky. so about all i have is a valid drivers license. I have never returned any thing before at wal mart with out a receipt. So i do know that i can return like 2 things a year with out one. So what will happen? they are currently out of stock, will i get a gift card, will they make me spend more on a 360 elite, or premium? thanks Phil

Well i have an xbox 360 core, that has a ring of death, it was bought at wal mart about a month ago, however i lost the receipt, and i threw out the box. I also recently moved from san Diego California to Sommerset Kentucky. so about all i have is a valid drivers license. I have never returned any thing before at wal mart with out a receipt. So i do know that i can return like 2 things a year with out one. With no proof of purchase it's rough on the more expensive items. Do you know the date you bought it? If it's within a month, they could try to search records of transactions, but only if that was the store you purchased it from. They might be able to call up the manufacturer and verify the serial numbers and date of purchase that way.
Don't expect to go in there and get reimbursed right away. Give them the info you need and your contact info and then maybe call them the next day to check up on what they found.
Oh, and don't go develop an attitude with the person trying to help you. It's not their fault it broke and showing any kind of anger or frustration will not help your situation, no matter what others might say. |

I guess any store needs receipt - just for that purpose. That's the only way you can prove yourself
You have to talk to the supervisor and ask for advice -
Then ask for the telephone number of the company that makes your item and talk to them about your problem - engineers always have solution - after the item went out to market the cost is cheap for them - ask nicely and tell them what happened and say good things about their product (kind of make them happy) so you will get a replacement. Get help from your parents if you are a child. Good luck!!. |

It is going to be tough but you can call the Walmart where you bought it from and ask for a receipt. They might or might not give it to you. Or, doesn't it have basic warranty? Can you call the 800 number and ask them about it? You can try to go to Walmart around where you live at and ask them about it. Different Walmarts have different policies. Good luck! |

I have returned items to WalMart without a receipt. What they do seems to be based on the dollar amount. On low cost items I have been given refunds but on most items they just give an in store credit, a gift card in the amount of the purchase. You can spend that on anything you want. |
