I'm with you. It shows a complete lack of respect for their employees. Maybe they needed to let some people go, but they should have had the decency to tell them face to face. I won't be buying anything there any time soon.
This is cute:

That's f--ked up! I think they set themselves up for a lot of damages since they can't 'escort' someone out. If I got an email firing me, I would just continue to show up until they grew some balls and fired me in person. That way, I could just say I never got the email and they would still have to pay me for being at work. |

I think it's OK for the company to say "there may be layoffs coming" in an email to EVERYONE. However, firing someone in any way other than in person is incredibly rude and unprofessional. |

It's rediculous they have no "man parts". Fire him/her to their face. |

Lazy and incompotent. Can't they take the time to tell people personally? The lack of empathy and consideration is appauling. |

From a financial standpoint, which is where Radio Shack is coming from, it was more than productive b/c they did save alot of time and money firing people this way. Dehumanizing? Yes. Remember most businesses (thank goodness not all) are all about the bottom line! |

Its management are wimps. Spineless geeks.
People who are not at fault should be given at least an ounce of dignity. |

So wrong, but this is the day of technology, we hardly see people anymore just emails. Just my thought. |

That is pretty shocking and unfair if you ask me. That's not a professional way to go about firing someone. I think there should be a law against that sort of thing. |

It's a chicken-sh!t way of firing someone, means that somebody is too afraid to step up and take the responsibility for doing it. |
