You have to feel bad for the little coffee shop, but really, when you think about it...Starbucks has put a lot of money into making sure that image is advertised. Not that they should be claiming a green circle, but think about it this way- is it easier for this little coffee shop to change their logo or Starbucks to change theirs? |

Don't you know that only lawyers are capable of seeing the similarities between a woman's face and the sillouhette of an elephant??? Not to mention that the words "Congo" and "Starbucks" are SO similar that even a blind person would confuse them!!! ;)
Meanwhile, nothing is done about generic and store-brand items on grocery shelves that bear far more plausible similarities in package design appearance, between them and their name brand competitors! But, I digress . . . ;)
The real "problem" for Starbucks is that, like McDonald's suing a Scottish restaurant for daring to use their own family name, "McDonald" (despite the fact that the eatery was there years before Kroc's ubiquitous restaurant was even dreamed of), public outcry will hurt the "Goliath", and, if only briefly, give the "David" tons of free publicity and business! But, then again, even lawyers gotta eat (or drink!), ya know! Smart!
But, c'mon folks . . . let's be fair! Every company is entitled to defend their rights - - real or imagined - - so, wake up and smell the coffee!!! ;) |
