ive given applications for jcpenny. some stores will make you take a survey. let me tell you, lie your *** off even if you appear fake. they want PERFECT people. my cousin and i tried the "real person" route and it didnt work. if they give you survey questions with answers that are similar to strongly disagree, disagree, not sure, agree, and strongly agree, go with either the first or last answer. they want you to be sure with yourself and they do not want people with shakey opinions. make eye contact, speak from your diaphragm, and give a strong handshake. dont say "um" too much. here are some sample questions they might ask you:
why do you want to work here?
how did you find out about tj maxx?
what do you do with an irate customer?
how do you handle more than one person asking you for help?
what was the most troubling experience you've had with a customer? (ex. a customer who stole something, people fighting, etc.)
what is the difference between selling to a customer and servicing a customer? (ans. selling people an item that isnt right for them, something that doesnt look good on them. servicing, helping someone find something affordable and nice)
what have you learned from your other jobs? ( patience, loyalty, customer is always right, never to say to a customer "i dont know")
good luck! smile a lot! |
