The trouble with Tescos is very weak management and no communication among the staff. Some customers are very rude and treat staff like something which was scraped off the bottom of your shoe. They have no idea how to treat their staff at all or how or even want to keep them happy. If staff were being treated well by management, they would be happy and this in turn would be reflected on to the customers. The problem with Tescos is at the top.Don't blame the hard working little one at the bottom.I have worked for an American company and they are the best employers I have ever had because they do everything to ensure their staff is happy in their job. |

I have switched from Tesco to Sainsbury for my home delivery shopping because Tesco was dreadful.
Broken eggs, missing items, bad substitutions, etc, all took their toll.
Sainsbury are great - nothing phases them, and the slightest error results in free delivery and refunds - whereas Tesco is bound by 'company policy', which is not usually in the customer's favour.
Tesco management need to get their heads out of each other's a***es and look at what the customer expects, and what the rest of the market is doing. |

My family visited London last summer and we LOVED Tesco's. Many times, we did so much sightseeing and we would swing by Tesco's to grab a bagful of food to take to our hotel for a late meal. Everyone was kind to us at Tesco's. |

I visited the UK several years ago, for a 6 week vacation. Some friends i stayed with took me to Tesco's a few times. I LOVED IT!!!! I bought a few things to bring home with me, and it was a great store.
The staff and people were great.
In the U.S. We have Costco's, Sam's Club, Super Walmarts and other stores like Tesco's.
I know this probably doesnt answer your question, but I had a very good experience when i was visiting the UK..and hope to go back again someday. |

Well, i think they should get staff who actually know the things that Tesco sell, eg. 'Quich I asked a member of staff where to find it and he just stood there dumfounded!! Had no clue what i was saying or what i was asking for, he went to ask someone else, and he looked at me blank as well! Sorry, but the people who work there havent got a clue what things are, i wonder why? I did say it was like a cheese flan, then they looked horrified and ran!! ps. I know it is spelled wrong, but i did pronounce it right. Also, when i mentiond Lorraine, they thought i was mad. |

I love my local Tesco, I fully support them, they are open all hours, and everything is under one roof. Bless their low prices, the choice is great, the staff are all pleasant and helpful. It's very British to knock a success story, I don't know why, but I personally have no desire to shop at the butcher, the baker, the grocer, the fishmonger, when I can get soooo much under one roof. One car journey, all I usually need. |

A large Tesco extra has just been built about 400yds from me out of my eyeline thank goodness but it is convenient to call there. I know the times when items are reduced ;-)
All the times I have been there, only one particular girl was silently rude. Everyone else has been very civil. Some items are too expensive, but tesco's own brands are good value especially the 24p toothpaste hehe |

Hi lollypop, I don't know where you live but I have worked for Tesco, Asda,Morrisons and Safeways in my working years. I have always found that if you treat your customer as your best friend then you will be treated the same. All the staff I have worked with have seemed to treat their customers with respect , everyone has an off day and if a person i.e. customer, treats you like you are beneath them( as they often do ) you may retaliate.
If you see a member of staff being rude to a customer then it is up to you to report it to your supervisor ,or if you don't want to snitch, then there should be a suggestion box where you can write about your feelings anonymously. |

forget isolated cases of rudeness - I'm sure you could see examples of customers being rude to staff too. Tesco is the perfect example of how to run and expand a business. I love it |
