It takes time to drill new Oil wells and get the stuff to market .. and Brazil may decide to ship it to China instead ..
There's plenty of known Oil (Alaska) or suspected Oil (Antartic) that USA has decided (for political reasons) not to develop ..
So, 'we' pay the going rate .. and will continue to do so for some time yet
(until supply exceeds demand by over 10%, prices are going to stay high ..)
Anyway, it's not CARS that you have to worry about - that will be taken care of by the market ... it's electricity generation .. the market has been distorted by political interference caused by public demand influenced by a few 'left wing' special interest groups who (I would suggest) want to bring down western civilization .. ...
Unless new Nuclear power plants start getting built today, in a few years time, the lights will start going out ..
(I believe this has already started in some states - where politicians enforced uneconomic power pricing thus resulting in individual power companies refusing to build additional capacity - expect to see a LOT MORE of the same ..) |

"Getting another car that runs on lpg" is not really an option for the great majority of us.
I think it's all driven by the media.
And I've lived in Brazil.
With a government like that, I'm sure some pockets are going to get lined down there just like the ones before. |
