This company keeps calling me on my cell. Who are they?

They call from 877-289-0281 or 301-223-0035. I've never answered the calls but wait for the voice mail. They're looking for this Jose guy who is not me. They said to call back if he cannot be reached by this number.
I got sick of them so I decided to call back. Apparently, I was being recorded for the quality of my message.
Then this guy answered so I told him that I'm not the Jose he's looking for so he was like okay.
Then he asked for my number. I think it was so he wouldn't call that number again. Without thinking, I gave it to him.
Then I looked up that number on google and numerous people were saying it was a scam.

I think I made a mistake on giving him my number huh?
Should I change it or not worry about it? Anybody else getting calls from this?

The name of the company for both numbers is CCS Debt Collections. THey collect for insurance companies like Allstate and Infinity. You can learn more at www.800notes.com. They are trained to keep calling and calling until you finally tell anything you know about Jose. They know that there is only a 1 in 200 chance that you know Jose. But it is worth it to them to try for that 1 chance.
They will sometimes threaten to go after you for the money. That's why it is best to hang up and say nothing.

I get these calls all the time, but usually on my land line. I've called back, and told them I'm not who they are looking for and ask them to remove my number off their list. I've not been bothered since.

Well he can't really do anything with the phone number....... the only bad thing that he can do with it is give it to other people... so yeaaa i would suggest you change it

i haven't gotten a call from those number's you have, but I know this number 8037403200 have been calling my phone and i don't answer it. I googled the number and figured that lot of other people were getting call from that number. They don't even leave a message. My best advice is that don't ever answer the phone if you don't know who's that number is, don't give ANYBODY your personal info. beside you really know someone, and don't call back b/c i heard it from online that if you don't know who was it and you try to call back, it costs 20USD/minutes. yep!!!! so be careful...
