To BYU Economic students: Is it true that the LDS church now owns 8.4% of Hershey's Chocolates?
Is this why so many General Authorities have inserted infomercial bites into their inspired speeches at Conference?

That's a hilarious joke blog. Thanks for the heads-up.
Here's the original:

And, if you're being serious, then no. The Church doesn't hold significant portions of any company, but does in fact have many holdings of its' own.

Here's a Wikipedia link to the LDS Church's finances. Note that the church does not disclose most financial data:

Senator John McClain
that's pretty funny stuff. Thanks for sharing.

PS I can't tell if your serious or not, but those quotes aren't real. They're a mix between how each of those men gave sermons and the Peanut Butter Cup's commercials.

Brother G The Mormon
That's just a joke blog...half of the people in that blog are dead.

Ender
No.

The major shareholders are public information. The largest of the shareholders holds about 5%.

The church probably owns some of their stock as part of their diversified investment portfolio.

As for the general authority endorsements....those quotes are made up.

gumby
ha ha ha. Wow, if that's how they really spoke, my kids might pay more attention at general conference.

I hope you are joking and do not seriously believe that.

They're just trying to wrangle a discount for mormon's establishing a year's supply of chocolate....
