I was shopping at victoria's secret the other day, and the cashier asked me if i wanted to get savings, coupons, and other benefits to me just but signing up to something called an angel card, without thinking i said yes. because she said it would cost me nothing. and then afterwards i went home and i read the bouchure she gave me and i found out it was a credit card!
she never said the words credit card in the conversation, and now i am stuck with a credit card i don't need and apparently she charged what i bought there on that credit card!!
now i think i can only pay up the bills and then cancel the card. but i am wondering if i will also have to pay for extra fees, for example, a monthly fee or something just because i "used" the card?
anyone else had this happened to you? what did you do?? please help!

now i am deciding if i should cancel it or not after i pay off this first payment, because from what i read, it really won't hurt you just to have it around? like, your credit won't become worse just by having it or there really isn't any bad reason for keeping it? |

The Victoria's Secret Angel card is basically a credit card just for Victoria's Secret, and there aren't any extra fees.
What happens is, instead of paying with cash or another credit card, you just pay with your Angel card. Then, the amount is charged onto that card. You can either pay that amount on the spot with cash or a credit card, or you can go home and pay it off online.
Basically, just make sure to pay off whatever you buy with that card, and there will be no extra charges...Only benefits!
Each time you swipe your card, there will be points awarded to you, and once you get a certain amount of points you get more discounts (like $10 off whatever).
In other words, swipe with your Angel card, be sure to pay off the amount of whatever you bought, and you'll have nothing but benefits :) |

I would be upset as well- but Angel cards really are nifty. I have one, and yes, it basically is a credit card- but there are no extra fees or anything. And you really do get AWESOME savings- coupons, offers and everything. But yeah, if you really want to get rid of it- just pay off the bill and cancel it. But if you shop at Victoria Secret a lot..I really reccommend that you keep it. I'm always at victoria secret, and victoria secret online- they have awesome clothes, the cutest bikinis, panties, bras..and they have really good makeup. So think about it!! |

ALthough I understand you issue. The Angel card is a neat thing to have. You can go online or to the store and pay you balance right there, you earn HUGE discounts. Lots of women use their card to buy VS (and BBW online takes the angel card as well), then go pay their bill right away, just to earn all the reward stuff. Free perfumes, undies and GCs |

Angel card is a credit card and will affect your credit scores at all three credit rating agencies. And its rate is really high (~ 20%?). So if u don't pay off your bill in full, it really costs u money. It has no annual fee though. That said, angel card is a great thing if u shop at VS often. U should recieve a great coupon book for six month saving in your mail shortly. They are real savings, like free panties, $24 for any angel bras, or $15 off any Very Sexy brasf or each of these six months. But u need an angel card to use these coupons. I would say keep your card, pay off your bill in full and enjoy the coupons for six months. Afterwards, if u don't want, just cancel it. |

It's not necessarily a bad thing...just MAKE SURE they know about an address change. During college, I moved from and apt. to a house and sent my new address info on the back on my last payment (leaving me with a $0 balance). However, I recently found out that my payment was late, and I never received a statement saying that I had a balance (late fee) because my address change hadn't been processed. While the late fee is minimal, and I've already paid it, my credit report now shows several 30 days and one 90 days late fees. I've heard other people have similar problems with their Angels card (address changes weren't processed). I should have just called to verify the change was made, but when people make a service like that available, you expect that it will be used. |
