WAL-MART BOYCOTT did you join ,why,what did you do to help.?

I do not and have never shopped at walmart.
It is a blatantly evil company. Profit is all they care about.

I do not shop at Wild Oats either. They are the walmart of the health food industry.

Walmart is for idiots. Morons. Lowclass scum.

You see, walmart has taken over in Canada too (along with toysrus, homedepot, and all those other mega marts). People protest in the hundreds and sometimes thousands, but 'somehow' city council still allows them in.

Walmart has closed down huge stores just to evade their employees unionization. Every penny that one gives to walmart goes straight into who's hands? Not the local economy, that's for sure. Not to the employees.

What people need to see it that it's not just walmart. All these stores do the exact same thing as walmart, only walmart gets all the publicity because it's the biggest at the moment.

There are also Canadian mega marts doing the same thing too, but you see, the USA has a huge population compared to Canada and big American companies can easily overpower the Canadian ones with all this free-trade crap. It's gotten to the point now that I have no choice, all the Canadian businesses have been put out of business and when I go shopping for things such as food, it's all from California. We grow blueberries right here in my own community, but the store sells USA blueberries at 10x the price. Our blueberries go to the USA. Same goes for all the fruits and vegetables.

And now that all the local businesses have been shut down, these mega marts are raising their prices, up and up and up on a weekly, if not daily basis. Some items we used to buy have gone from $2 to $9 in about a year's time. This is how these mega-marts work: get rid of the little local businesses with super low prices, then jack the prices back up 1000%.

I used to own a bakery, and we'd sell jam for let's say $4.60 a jar with a very expensive wholesale price of $2.50. The superstore down the street sells the same thing for $2.00 -- how could we compete? We couldn't and now we are gone, but the price of jam goes up and up at the superstore now that the competition is gone.

So yes, boycott walmart, but also boycott all those other mega marts -- all those faceless corporations -- those big-box stores. Shop where the actual owners are right there standing in front of you. Sure, it will cost more money, but look at the big picture.
