People in the countries that they ousource to will take much lower wages than Americans, so while they are being "conservative", we have a rising unemployment rate. Outsourcing the jobs back to Americans, or telecommuting could potentially give the economy that little boost it needs. I hate greedy CEO's, don't you? |

Sometimes it is all we have to choose from. When you are looking for a particular thing...and I do get discouraged. I detest it also. I picked up something in the market the other day to read the directions and there was nothing in English on the box. It was total Spanish. I was so disgusted I went to another store. |

I agree, it's crazy!
My best guess on "why" is that people don't understand the bigger picture. They just want to shop and find the cheapest deals, they don't care about quality OR about impacts to jobs within the USA.
I refuse to shop at Wal-Mart and the Dollar Store, etc., because they sell very cheap (and poorly-made) products made in other countries. They've forced many small American businesses into bankruptcy, and I don't advocate that at all. |
