Hypocrisy, is what we have so much of today!! I have a friend who is against people using government hand outs. But he used them, like WIC's and some others. He doesn't believe in the economy going towards companies like Wal-Mart or the low paying crap that Wal-Mart gets away with, but guess what? He works at Wal-Mart! I go there because it makes life and sundries affordable to people like me who doesn't have a high income.! This is just an example of what Corporate America is becoming!!

if you're a smart and attentive shopper (ads, coupons, etc.), you don't have to rely on wal mart -- even if you're on a tight budget. trust me. also, wal mart doesn't always have the best prices and even when it does, it's only by a small margin. finally, the cost of something goes beyond the price you pay at the register. see "wal mart: high cost of low prices."

Just remember they are in business to separate you from your money as quickly as they can, they are not your friend they have no ones interest in mind other than their own. Look at how they treat their employees, the products they sell are either inferior in quality as with the food, or gained with extortion like practices. They feel they are the only ones entitled to make money so they monopolize the industry forcing themselves were they are not welcome because they know better than you. After they put all of the competition out of business you will see the true colors come out when they will quadruple the prices. But if none of that bothers you then shop til you drop.

Nah...the priceis right & you have to think about your own finances & needs. Shop On!

The treatment of employees is one of many problems that Wal-Mart causes. Yes, you pay very low prices for their goods, but we must realize that we are also paying much more than that, in other ways... such as:

Friends & Neighbors losing their jobs (competing store owners, or manufacturing jobs that Wal-Mart actively forced to move to China);

The loss of Small-Town America, because Wal-Mart has replaced the downtown in most small towns... One big box just doesn't quite have the same charm or sustain the social network of a bustling downtown.

Yes, Wal-Mart is a very well-run business, but that just makes them the perfect parasite, that is destroying the American way of life from several angles.

Shop where you want to shop and don't let anybody make you feel bad about it. I love walmart. and no matter how good something is, people will always find something bad about it.

NO.you should just shop were ever you wanna shop.

You should feel good about shopping at wal-mart. My friends in the Louisiana said that they got supplies to live off of from Walmart trucks that were sent there before they ever saw any relief FEMA. I hope the government felt good about getting shown up by a retail chain! Hehe. Maybe that's why they get all the bad press...more government propaganda!

I don't feel bad shopping at Walmart. It's not my favorite place to shop. It's generally a little dirty and the clientel is a little sketchy at certain stores but they have good prices. Unless you have first hand experience with the unfairly treated employess than chalk it up as a rumor and keep shopping. If it was really that bad, don't you think the employees would quit?

Here's something to consider. If Walmart treats their employees so badly, why do the employees stick around?

Employees at Walmart don't make much, but the same thing applies for most employees in big chain retail stores, or even mom-and-pop shops for that matter.

Employees at Walmart are free to quit and find another job. So I don't think you should feel badly that the employees are treated unfairly.

Some people will point out that Costco has higher paid employees than Walmart. True, but Costco employees are also a lot more efficient. Costco is a bit more discerning in whom they hire than Walmart (Walmart really will hire almost anyone; Costco will not).

Shopping is a personal preference. I don't shop Target because they do not support our veterans. I am not so sure Walmart does not treat their employees fairly. They do have insurance, they offer a stock purchase program, they pay them, I have not personally spoken to a Walmart employee to know that they feel mistreated. The news shows hype it up but don't really interview employees. Do what you think is right. Personally I love shopping Walmart and think they have good prices, they are one of the biggest corporations around so they can't be all bad.
