I worked at Sam's club from 2002-2003. I started at $10/hr and moved to $11.25/hr within 1 year. I was the only full time tire department guy in my store. They forced me to work terribly long shifts and i got yelled at for taking breaks. I worked 102.75 hours in one week and still have the pay stub to prove that. Not a company I recommend working for. |

I don't think walmart is bad on employees, I think people work at walmart expecting doctor or engineering pay. If you go into walmart expecting minimum wage you won't be disappointed, I would imagine sam's club is the same. The company that is different is costco they look for people that want a career and pay 16 to 17 bucks an hour with benefits. |

Yes sam's club is just as bad, I used to work at sam's club in Gilbert, Az. & they would lock us in at night so we could not get out until our shift was over, I worked on hard lines & the pay was the same. That was back in the mid 90's |

Listen, no company can FORCE you to work overtime - especially 102 in a week. I'm not doubting the person that posted that did work that many hours, and I'm sure they weren't complaining about their paycheck that time either.
This is a retail company - the hours aren't 9-5 with weekends off. It can fluctuate a lot sometimes - especially during holidays! Since Wal-Mart has been the subject of many lawsuits, they are very strict to make sure you take your appropriate breaks and lunches - how long you work in a day and how many days in a week you work consecutively NOT just in that pay period. So, to answer your question - the pay is a little more at Sams, and the hours will be what most retail places are |

One thing Sam's is very good about in my area of the country is allowing young people to schedule work around college schedules. All three of my kids worked there through college and they were very accommodating while paying about *** good as anything a young person can get at that time of their lives. |
